Forums4airports this week focuses on Isle of Man Airport (IOM), UK is also known as Ronaldsway Airport. Built on the southern coast of the island offers daily connections to the UK, Channel Island and Ireland. The Isle of Man Sea terminal also offers entry to the island. The field was built back in 1929 and has been used for passenger throughput and by the RAF who used it as a base in the second world war. It has had much money spent to improve faciltiies including lengthening of the runway and increasing the size of the departure lounge. The main two airlines operating are flybe and manx2.com with daily connections to the UK, Ireland and Channel islands. The biggest aircraft currently used is the Airbus A319 used by easyjet from Liverpool. Cargo operations are carried out by DHL sub contracted to Atlantic Airlines using ATP's and also Air Contractors using ATR's.
